The show has been described as a coming-of-age dramedy which takes places in a fantastical world. Betty Felicia Day put on the ice crown and wished for Simon to be saved but by doing so seemingly sacrificed herself. Her wish led her to merge with GOLB as the pair become one and in turn this destroyed the chaos creatures. Gunter the Penguin Tom Kenny picked up the crown and put it on, ending up transforming into the Ice King. Shermy and Beth, who listened to the story from BMO, doubted the tale and visited where Fern was planted. There was a giant tree there where Fern was buried and Shermy and Beth climbed it before they were seen pulling out a sword – much like Finn and Jake in the opening credits to Adventure Time.
Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations
TVLine chatted with executive producer Adam Muto for additional closure, but first, a quick recap: After all that build-up, the Great Gum War ended rather quickly, with both sides agreeing to move forward peacefully as a two-kingdom realm. Just when it seemed the worst was over, however, a menacing portal appeared overhead, unleashing GOLB — the ultimate evil, as discovered by Betty and Simon years earlier — on the unsuspecting candy people of Ooo.
With only their most trusted allies by their side — including a newly redeemed Fern! We also got our first official Bubblegum-Marceline kiss, which you can read about here.
Bubblegum and Marceline have a moment. Finn and Jake save the world. But find out what Adventure Time executive producer Adam Muto.
All good graybles must come to an end. And with Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time concluding this week, EW compiled a list of our 30 ish favorite episodes, highlighting the show’s ambition, invention, inclusivity, omnivirous intelligence, and truly kaleidoscopic sense of fun. Cosmic space dude Warren Ampersand Dave Foley arrives with the shocking truth about Jake’s biological parentage. On a distant planet in the far-off cosmos, Warren begs for Jake’s help. Nothing is what it seems.
Adventure Time had no patience for genre tropes, and “Starchild” turns into the show’s most blistering takedown of the Chosen One fantasy. It’s also an all-time eye-melting showcase for the visual possibilities of Jake’s elasticity. Granted the spotlight, he reveals a rich inner life. In a series obsessed with old-fashioned heroics — saving princesses, swinging swords, beating up bad guys — here’s a lovely testament to a quieter kind of heroism: the courage to follow your dreams.
Bingo, bango. When observers look back on our current cultural moment decades from now, Adventure Time will explain a lot. The series combines of the best parts of our modern zeitgeist, from the effortless way it mixes genres and tones, to its conscious choice to highlight characters with diverse genders and life experiences.
And it wrote fan fiction — one of the main ways modern fans interact with the culture they love — into its own story.

I can’t help but think about the Adventure Time series finale, when we learned that BMO survived years past Finn’s and Jake’s deaths, living for.
It originally aired on Cartoon Network on July 30, The series follows the adventures of Finn voiced by Jeremy Shada , a human boy, and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake voiced by John DiMaggio , a dog with magical powers to change shape and grow and shrink at will. In reality, Bubblegum is worried that Flame Princess will be unable to withstand romance without burning a hole in the Earth’s crust. The episode, which heavily deals with themes revolving around love and emotion, was originally light on humor, which necessitated series’ creative director Adam Muto to insert various jokes and gags.
The episode also features the short song “Bacon Pancakes”, which has since become a fan favorite. Critically, the episode was met with positive reviews. Although Finn and Flame Princess voiced by Jessica DiCicco have been in a relationship for awhile, Finn is unable to do more than hug her.

Eric Kohn. In early February , just a few months after Cartoon Network notified the team behind its most surprising breakout hit that the show was canceled, the cast finished their last round of voice work. The final episodes were written, and the saga of Finn and Jake in the magical, post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo came to a close as the cast and crew scattered to new projects. The fruits of their labor will gradually unfurl on Cartoon Network until — although the timing remains uncertain.
Not its reclusive creator, Pendleton Ward, who left his top job on the show two years ago, and certainly not Cartoon Network, which never knew quite how to handle its success. People at the network were scratching their heads.
Adventure Time follows Finn the Human and Jake the (not-so-much) Dog a bisexual girlfriend to events and been asked about my boyfriend.
This page describes Finn ‘s relationships with other characters in the Adventure Time series. Joshua and Margaret are the parents of Jake and Jermaine , and the adoptive parents of Finn. Finn loves his foster parents very much and treasures Margaret’s music box , as seen in ” Jake vs. Me-Mow ” that she used for lullabies and carries it with him in his backpack; he sees himself as their son and fellow ‘puppy. As housemates, adoptive brothers and best friends, Finn and Jake share an incredibly strong bond.
Having been raised together by Jake’s parents, the duo share a relationship similar to that of siblings, with Jake acting as Finn’s older brother. Though they have an unconditional love for each other, Finn can get frustrated with Jake because of his laziness and lack of motivation, as seen in many episodes like ” The Witch’s Garden. While he sometimes leads Finn down the wrong path, Jake genuinely means well for his companion and is usually an encouraging and protective figure in Finn’s life.
In ” Incendium ,” Jake ventures out to find a girlfriend for Finn to fall in love with, and states that he desires for Finn to have “a healthy relationship with someone cool” in ” Flute Spell “. Finn and Jake have saved each other’s lives on several occasions, and often adventure throughout the Land of Ooo together. In “Dungeon,” they both try to survive throughout the dungeon trials; however, they both fail at it and they realise that they need each other as a team to overcome the challenges.
This is also evidenced in ” Who Would Win ,” in which Finn says he wants to have an award with Jake, instead of only himself. In ” Video Makers ,” they argue on what genre their movie should be, and they refuse to talk to each other until BMO fixes the problem.

Being a hero, Finn has become quite popular in the Land of Ooo, starting many friendly relationships. Finn eagerly hoped to win the princess over with his heroic deeds. Finn and Princess Bubblegum share a staunch sense of morality and often work together to bring justice and balance to the Land of Ooo. Marceline cries out and then transforms into one of her giant demonic forms that kind of looks like an angry sheep. Filled with rage, she beats the monster to a pulp. When Marceline sees that Bubblegum is OK, having been protected by her armor, she wraps her in an embrace and they kiss. That was the only note. I can’t argue with that. By using this term, I reject the notion that bisexual, pansexual, fluid, and queer folks and our identities should be in opposition to one another.
Finn and Jake are essentially freelance knights who explore dungeons, assist princesses, and save the world multiple times. Finn even finds the rest of the humans and welcomes them home to Ooo. The series addresses adoption, nuclear war, reincarnation, human ingenuity, human hubris, climate crisis, and—though it may not be intentional—gender and sexuality.
They say that this is the case in part because Adventure Time takes place after the end of human civilization on earth.
